DECREASE ANXIETY

Anxiety can become a debilitating consequence of life that builds up over time, and sometimes we’re not aware of how it started…and more importantly, how to reduce its effects on our life. Various stressors such as work, family, finances, injury, disability etc  can trigger us to respond – racing heart, avoidance, feeling angry, feeling isolated,  etc. but you can do something about it.

Art Therapy is another form of psychotherapy, and as a qualified Rehabilitation Counsellor who has also studied Art Psychotherapy, as well as feeling the impact of anxiety after a substantial back injury, I believe I can offer a unique set of tools to help you move forward.

If you are seeing any other health professionals such as a psychologist for anxiety, or any other issues, you can share your art therapy process and results with them. If you would like me to discuss anything with your Health Professional, I would need your permission to do so as all of our sessions would be confidential. (You would sign a confidentiality form to approve this if you wished to do so.)

As Art Therapy provides a different perspective on your situation, working alongside your other Health Professionals can offer you new insight and answers to your concerns.

Art Therapy is also a stand alone process to help you learn coping strategies.

If you want to discuss your situation please do not hesitate to phone.

Art therapy offers you ways to explore how to reduce the effects of anxiety through the process of art.

We may use elements of painting, pastels, photography, writing , mosaics, or a number of creative arts that resonate with you. We will also teach you breathing techniques and how to learn to trust your body again so that you will be able to manage your life better.  Imagine waking up, and feeling confident about the day ahead, or keeping plans you’ve made. Being able to imagine a better stronger life is the key.

You can choose to come along to Artfusion Counselling and have individual art therapy sessions and counselling or you may choose to be part of a small group.

The Mandala can be downloaded to colour in. Learning to focus like this can help to reduce anxiety.
